The goal of this project is simple: "To create an open source game engine that thrives on simplicity without sacrificing usability." What does this mean? It means that the game engine will be free and open source, and also not be so complex where you need to take a college course just to put a picture to the screen. The graphics engine I am choosing to use for this project is called Irrlicht. Irrlicht is an excellent cross platform graphics engine that does so much, and since it is cross platform...so can this engine.
Something that I have personally learned is that: "Nothing is offical until it is in the mailing lists." This means that even if you email me to discuss something with me, its not offical until it hits the mailing lists.
Note: The principals are borrowed from the SVN project.
